This typeface is the beginning of a larger project exploring the discovery process of new languages and cultures. The project begins with an alphabet and moves into explorations of the imagined culture.

Gif showing the word "hello" written in both Times New Roman and Axol. The vowels in this Axol iteration are placed underneath the proceeding consonant and double consonants are indicated by a dot written beneath the letter.

Grid showing the type face and the Roman alphabet equivalents. Drawing from the from Elder Futhark conventions, the letters b and v are not separate characters. There are also symbols for sounds such as "th" and "ch". Most importantly, double consonants are indicated using a dot under the consonant, rather than by writing the letter twice.
